Birthday Weekend in a quaint new england town
We took my birthday weekend as an excuse to cross off another city our New England bucket list. Portsmouth, New Hampshire is about an hour east of us and it't the quintessential coastal town that comes to mind when you think of New England. Snow was in the forecast so we thought we may have to reschedule. Then we realized that it will always be snowing so we might as well get used to doing things in it! So off we went on a snowy Friday night.
We arrived at our adorable B&B in heart of the cute historic downtown.
It was still snowing when we bundled up and set out for dinner. But the wind had stopped and suddenly 32 degrees didn't seem so cold! The snowy streets were deserted and the colonial street lights lit up the flakes as they fell. It was one of the most peaceful and beautiful walks we have ever taken!
Folks. The snow here is no joke. They got over three feet in Portsmouth. But thanks to my swanky new North Face boots hubby got me for my birthday, I conquered these snowy streets.
It wouldn't be a ScrubLove adventure without a delicious dinner. Hearty meals of duck and lamb to warm us up. Cooked by a Cut-throat Kitchen Chef!
The next day was bright and sunny. But don't let that fool you- with the gusty winds it felt like negative ten! Luckily there were tons of cute shops and cafes to duck in and thaw out.
Once again New Hampshire is proving to us that is you have the right boots and the right sense of adventure- even three feet of snow can be spectacular!
